”Literate Future” -project briefly in English.
In Joroinen we have an ambitious goal: to be the most literate municipality in Finland! The goal of the ”Literate Future” literacy project is to develop and implement a sustainable and nationally distributed model in Joroinen municipality: The Literacy Path, which promotes the goals of the National Literacy Strategy 2030.
The aim of the Literacy Path is to create a path that supports and develops the literacy skills of every child, starting from early childhood education, fostering their multiliteracy and interest in reading all the way to the end of comprehensive school and into high school, preparing them for a literate future.
The model will be implemented in collaboration with the educational departments, early childhood education, comprehensive school, high school, teachers and counselors, parents, the library, youth services, entrepreneurs, and other municipal actors. The literacy project supports the idea of a literate municipality where literacy work is on everyone’s agenda. Throughout the project, awareness of the importance of literacy work and the well-being of the municipality will be strengthened.
The ”Literate Future” project is carried out with funding from the Finnish National Agency for Education in collaboration with the municipality of Joroinen.
